SANTA MARIA MANUELA

Discover the Santa Maria Manuela: Tall-Ship Adventures and Island Hopping
Set sail aboard the Santa Maria Manuela, a classic 4-masted schooner offering hands-on island-hopping voyages, thrilling diving expeditions, and immersive sail training experiences. No experience needed—you’re invited to take part in navigation, trimming sails, and even taking the wheel, all under guidance from our skilled crew. Think eco-conscious adventure framed by maritime heritage.
Originally launched in the 1930s, the Santa Maria Manuela underwent a complete comfort renovation in 2022. Today, she combines timeless tall-ship charm with modern amenities—making her one of the most comfortable and stylish classic sailing vessels at sea.
Equipped with modern navigation tools and vintage paper charts, it’s a working classroom. Guests are invited inside for mini-lessons on navigation, weather forecasting, and even sextant use.
With its expansive 62-meter deck, once used to clean and salt cod, the Santa Maria Manuela now shines as one of the largest open decks on any tall ship. Comfortable bench seating, buffet tables, and a bar transform it effortlessly into an event venue—imagine film shoots, environmental expeditions, sunset drinks, or festive dinners dockside or at anchor.
Food matters—and aboard SMM it’s exceptional. The chef prepares a delicious mix of Portuguese and international dishes, all from a galley capable of cooking 195 hot meals daily, supported by two pantries and full catering gear.
Each of the ship’s cabins is different—beautiful carpeted spaces blending heritage with functionality. All 22 cabins offer ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, USB outlets, privacy curtains, and soundproofing, accommodating up to 44 guests. Most beds measure a generous 190×80 cm, with towels and daily cleaning included.
The 80 m² Salon Terra Nova is the ship’s social heart. With seating for 38 (plus 5 at the bar), plush sofas, moveable tables, and a retracting 4K screen, it’s perfect for meals, cocktails, briefings, or movie nights.
Zodiacs, Kayaks & Paddles for Shore Adventure
Two onboard zodiacs transport guests to shore or dive sites—each rated for 14 passengers. Additionally, inflatable kayaks and SUP boards are ready to explore when anchored, with floating decks making water access easy and safe.
